Following public outcry over Olamide’s hit song ‘Science student’, the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission,(NBC) has slammed a ‘Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB)’sanction on the song.<br />

Tribune reports that the notification proscribing the song from being broadcast was sent to all radio and television stations across the country during the out-gone  week.<br />

In the same vein, the Head of Public Affairs, NBC, Hajia Maimuna Jimada confirmed NBC’s stand on the hit song.<br />

“NBC does not ban music. Our mandate is on what goes on Radio and TV. Olamide’s Science Student has been declared ‘Unfit for broadcast’.We have communicated all our licensees for compliance or they will face sanctions,” she said.<br />

Though Olamide has revealed that the song doesn’t promote drug abuse, the public agitation obviously prevailed over his stance.

Also, a reliable source in government told PUNCH that the state had equally moved against popular comedian, Ayo Makun, better known as AY, for allegedly failing to pay tax.</div>

Davido, the Chief Executive Officer of HKN Music, Lagos, has been charged before a Lagos High Court in July 2017 and risk a jail term if convicted.</div>

AY has had a longer history in court against the state as he was charged to court in 2016 for failing to file his tax returns as required by law.</div>

“Davido, who has record deals with Sony Music Entertainment and endorsement agreements with various companies in Nigeria, has not filed his tax returns or remit any taxes to the Lagos State Government,” the source said.</div>
