Soyinka, Anyaoku, Tunde Bakare Others To Launch Third Force, Group Gets Coordinators

Prominent Nigerians have been listed to launch a political movement, Third Force, propelled by the Nigeria Intervention Movement, in February.
This was revealed in a statement by the Deputy Director General of NIM, Mallam Naseer Kura.
Among the prominent Nigerians slated to speak at the launch are Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka; a former Military Governor, Colonel Abubarkar Umar Dangiwa; a former Secretary Genral of the Commonwealth of Nations, Chief Emeka Anyaoku; and a former Minister of Finance, Mallam Adamu Ciroma.
Others include renowned Economist and Founder of Lagos Business School, Prof. Pat Utomi; former Minister of Defence, General Alani Akinriade; former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke; and Hajia Najatu Mohammed.
The others that make up the long list include constitutional lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN); former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa; Dr. Garba Adamu; Lagos-based lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN); former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega; eminent businessman, Fola Adeola; former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the General Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare; former Minister of Education and Convener of #BringBackOurGirls, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; Dr AbduJalil Tafawa Balewa; and motivational speaker and writer, Fela Durotoye.
In the statement, Kura said following massive acceptance and inquiries about NIM, it was compelled to announce its decision to formally launch its emergent Third Force umbrella rainbow movement at a major national political summit to be hosted by the movement in the last week of February in Abuja
He said: “This was the resolve of the national leadership of NIM as contained in the Time table of NIM’s Action Plan adopted earlier in the month in Abuja for the consolidation of the third force initiative of the movement, conceived to rescue Nigerians from the existing leadership incompetence and impunity in the country.”
Kura equally announced the appointment of zonal coordinators for the group.
The coordinators are: North East, Engr Buba Galadima; North West, Engr Rabiu Suleman Bichi; North Central, Dr. John Darah; South East, Hon Uche Onyeagocha; South West, Dr. Olu Agunloye; and South South, Comrade Ikpe Obong.
According to Kura: “These zonal coordinators have been mandated by the National Steering Committee to urgently facilitate and hold zonal consultative meetings in their various zones within the next one week to nominate credible state coordinators for the movement, while cascading the movement revolutionary agenda into Local Government Areas, Wards and polling units of the various states in preparation for the 2019 electoral revolution in Nigeria.”
